In December 2023, I was honored to be Writer in Residence at Nanning Literature House in Tainan.

During the residency I worked on the edits of my upcoming short story collection ON THE BODIES OF STRANGERS which is due out with Epoque Press in 2024.

Alongside my collaborator, and co-director of Wind&Bones, Will Buckingham we also produced Nourishing Tainan: a project where we explored the connections between food, culture, stories, and philosophy.

We wanted to make this residency interactive, to use the time not just to write and think, but also to make deeper connections with the city that is now our home. So we invited members of the public over to the Literary House to share afternoon tea and stories of their own that we then published on our Nourishing Tainan website.

We ended the residency with a public lecture talking about our writing, Nourishing Tainan and the many other projects we’ve produced at the intersection of writing, creativity and social change.
