Recently I was delighted to be invited to Kaohsiung Girls' Senior High School to deliver a lecture and run a workshop.

During this semester the class curriculum Kaohsiung Girls' Senior High School has focussed on the idea of “Cultural Mosaic” which aims to inspire students in design culture, to respect and embrace different cultures and to explore and expand their world view, through creativity, literature and more.

For this lecture - alongside my Wind&Bones collaborator Dr Will Buckingham - we were invited to talk about our work at Wind&Bones as writers and creatives interested in diverse and intersectional stories from many countries and contexts.

It was a delight to talk to the girls – and teachers who also joined us – about our work, our writing and the projects we’ve run in Taiwan and beyond. During our talk we reflected on how we believe that a diversity of stories help to nourish our spirit and how ideas nourish our imagination, and our ability to make better collective decisions. Of course, that’s why so much of our work is around storytelling, philosophy and creative thinking more generally.

The girls were a wonderful and attentive audience who went on to write and share their own stories during the session.

Thank you to Syliva Li for the kind invitation and thank you to the girls and teachers who made both Will and I feel so welcome. It was a pleasure to visit the school and to see some more of the lovely city Koahsiung.
